The winding road of the Route des Crêtes (route of ridges) takes you along the top of Cap Canaille for fabulous views of the sea below. You’ll also get an eyeful — and an aromatic snout-full — of the famous garrigue vegetation, with its twisted pine trees and wildflowers. Sometimes the wind is so strong that this 9-mile road from Cassis to Ciotat is closed to car traffic.
