We toured the positively palatial home of merchant Huis Bartolotti (1618). It opens out onto a lovely parterred garden in back, complete with an enormous drainage pipe that was converted into a bomb shelter in WWII. The Hendrick de Keyser Assocation purchases historically and architecturally significant homes like this one, restores them, and then repurposes and rents them out as event facilities, hotels, etc.
