Lake Luzern is the fourth largest lake in Switzerland, having four arms and multiple bends. In other words, it’s got lots of shoreline for resorts. The Swiss call it the Vierwaldstättersee, literally “Lake of the Four Forested Settlements” because it straddles four cantons (“counties”).
