You can see how Feskekörka (“fish church”) got it’s name. Gothenburg’s city architect, Victor von Gegerfelt, claimed he was inspired by Norwegian stave churches and stone Gothic churches. Built it 1874, the building served as the city’s primary fish auction site until 1910, when the auction was moved to the new fishing harbor, Majnabbe.
