After four years of living in minimalist Scandinavia, our Lincoln Park place felt like a dark, creepy Victorian mansion. Our Arts & Crafts furniture, bought mostly at flea markets, reflects the early years of our marriage, when we lived in an apartment building designed by E.E. Roberts, a competitor of Frank Lloyd Wright. But after 25 years of hard use, everything needed lots of refinishing and reupholstering.
