In this aerial photo, you can see (1) the grave mounds, (2) the “Ra,” the Norwegian word for the gravel ridge that the glacier left behind about 12,300 years ago, and (3) the remains of the Brunlane shield volcano’s flanks and lava flow stretching out into the sea.
